Londis Etwall becomes the next retail outlet to implement Pricer Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs), having worked with productivity solutions provider, the Herbert Group, for the project management and implementation of the devices . Using technology similar to e-readers, ESLs dynamically display price and product information at the point of purchase, to enhance the customer experience and facilitate dynamic merchandising possibilities.
Londis Etwall is one of two Londis stores owned by Dee Sedani, the multi-award winning convenience retailer. Dee’s entrepreneurial spirit has ensured that his business has become an essential part of the community, despite competition from larger retailers in the area. This is down to his constant drive to improve his store standards and the service and customer experience that he provides to his customers, which is where Pricer’s ESL technology is key, facilitating a wealth of merchandising strategies for an ultimately engaging in-store experience.
Dee Sedani has always looked to technology to make sure that his business stays ahead of the competition, and he immediately recognised the potential in Pricer Electronic Shelf Labels, so worked collaboratively with Herbert and systems integrator, Micros, to integrate the technology and bring this exciting productivity innovation to his store.
Commenting on the technology, Dee said
“Imagine having the ability to instantly raise all of your prices between the hours of 10pm and 5am; I can now do this to increase my profits on key products that people buy during these hours, such as alcohol and tobacco. Outside of these hours I can run timed promotions on products to increase sales, by cross-selling and upselling key lines, which again increase my profits, generating a quick return on investment for the ESL technology that Herbert installed in my store”.
The Pricer labels that have been installed offer leading-edge resolution for both text and graphic rendering, along with a wide viewing angle, and industry leading low reflection in all lighting conditions. Utilising enhanced diffuse infrared technology for wireless label updates, Pricer ESLs are fast to update information and integrate seamlessly within the store environment.
Raj Sangha, Business development Manager at Herbert, commented
“Adaptive merchandising strategy is key to increasing profits and offering the customer the best possible deal locally. The Pricer ESLs that we installed at this Londis store, adds real value to the convenience retailer”.
Among the many advantages, ESL cuts the cost of printing labels and offer savings in staff time when updating prices and product information on labels. They also provide meaningful business metrics and facilitate efficient re-stocking and aid in-store customer retention.
